The Waffle Shop billboard repurposes a defunct rooftop billboard structure atop the Waffle Shop building and replaces the static message of a commercial sign with a dynamic, changeable monologue. The system uses a set of custom-made letters that float on rails, with only the sky as the background, to create a live marquee that can change on demand. The billboard functions as one more way of publicly broadcasting the conversations and ideas that are catalyzed by the Waffle Shop and the Conflict Kitchen.

The Billboard was designed by Pablo Garcia/POiNT and Jon Rubin, director of the Waffle Shop.
The Waffle Shop Billboard is generously supported by Sota Construction Services, East Liberty Development, Inc., We Do Property, and the School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University.
